Maine Wedding - Bailey Island

During the first conversation that we had with the Bride, we knew this was going to be an incredibly special wedding. The Bride wanted her day to feel like an old fashioned carnival, fun, simple and easy. The choice to get married at Library Hall on Bailey Island in Harpswell was a perfect one… Library Hall is a beautiful old building overlooking Mackerel Cove, a real working harbor. To get guests into the proper frame of mind, fresh popped popcorn in red and white striped boxes waited for guests on an antique table.

Lawn games, hoola hoops, and handmade pinwheels where waiting for guests on the beautiful front porch. The pinwheels had the bride & groom’s name along with the wedding date displayed.

In keeping with the theme, we created boxed lunches.  Guests had their choice of fresh picked lobster rolls, tarragon chicken salad and caprese flatbread made on homemade foccacia.  Fresh green bean salad, red potato salad and a whoopie pie rounded out the meal.  The bride had a friend who was a graphic designer create the adorable labels.

Homemade flags were hung throughout the building.

A photo booth was created for guests to take funny pictures in costumes that were provided for just that reason.

The piece de resistance was an ice cream truck.  The bride and groom hopped in and began handing out everyone’s favorites. Cupcakes were also offered inside of the hall on a customized display.
