We love dahlias! They are so beautiful and come in a myriad of colors. They are perfect for a wedding with a country feel but can also be used in more streamlined modern feeling receptions.
Here are some examples of dahlias being used as the main focal point of the tablescape. The simplicity of the vases allows for the beauty and color of the flowers to show through.

Bride’s are always looking for ways to create something unique for their wedding day. Here is an idea that can be customized to suit any decor and is super easy , fast and inexpensive. The key is to use boxes that are different heights and shapes.
1. Tape boxes shut
2. Cut fabric in a square that is large enough to “wrap” the box like a present
3. Hot glue the fabric into place
4. Customize with anything that will fit your decor. For this party, we used “jewels”.
You will need:
Various sized boxes
Scraps of material
Hot glue gun
packing tape
To create a country feel we start with pots of fresh herbs tied in burlap with a twine knot. They provide color, a wonderful smell and can be replanted into your garden the next day.
In keeping with the garden theme, we also used plant sticks to help guest identify the local cheeses.
We chose to go with natural colors for the table linens. For this party, we were inspired by the beauty of the fresh beets and used a soft pink for a “pop” of color on top of all the browns and beiges.

Go antiquing and see what treasures you can discover. I found a beautiful old farmers market basket at an antique store in Damariscotta which we lined with moss.

“Something borrowed, something blue. And something shaken, something stirred.” The New York Times announces the return of the “signature cocktail” for brides and grooms this season. We love the idea of a designer cocktail that celebrates a couple’s unique taste.
Here is a great way to add some personality to your wedding. Rather than have seating guest cards, create a seating chart board.
