The setting on Kezar Lake couldn’t have been more perfect for a wedding. The Bride’s family has a home on the farthest point of the lake. From this vantage point the only thing you can see are trees and water. The Bride was brought to the ceremony site by her father on a pontoon boat. The Bride’s mother, an avid gardener had spent the summer getting the property ready for her daughter’s wedding. The Bride chose to go with an elegant fall theme that featured orange and white pumpkins, shades of ivory and peach.

Belle Fete was part of one of the most beautiful and touching weddings that took place at the Maine Maritime Musuem. When I asked Bride about the type of experience she was looking for as well as her vision for the day, her response brought me to tears. “Our families have both experienced great loss, we want to celebrate with all of the people who have loved and supported us, have a wonderful meal, dance to great music and have a perfect time”. Belle Fete was honored to chosen to be a part of this celebration. The Bride and Groom wanted to have a family style meal with great food that featured local Maine produce but wasn’t stuffy or “fancy”. What makes this celebration even more amazing was the fact that the Bride did almost all of her planning while living in Thailand! I was so busy leading up to the wedding and the owner would always take time to call me to make sure everything was under control. They worked within my unique requests for all local and vegetarian food and did a great job. Our ceremony was very late to start and they managed to keep the timing of the food right so that everyone could enjoy the food. They allowed me to bring fresh berries from a friend’s farm and created an amazing and creative meal. M & K I feel like I’m writing a thank you to a dear friend which is never as eloquent at it should be. Thank you a billion times over for being part of our wedding! A billion may not work, lets try to the moon and back, sounds better. Your food was truly the gift that I wanted to give to my family. I am still getting raved reviews on it! I made tenderloin tonight and my husband asked me, “Sweetie, it’s so good! Did you get Belle Fete’s recipe?” Food is what gives the mood and judging by the sing along, group dancing and multiple surprise performances by random guest…. girl you make one hell of a mood! From start to finish it was perfect; the tomato pudding, the delicious wine behind the scenes, the tenderloin, and the blueberry pie (I might need to make a second dinner if I keep talking like this). I don’t know how you do it but you do perfect very well. It was exactly what we wanted, everyone that gave us so much feeling our unconditional love for them, and you were a huge part of that. If you ever, ever, have a bride that doesn’t instantaneously trust your beautiful energy or irresistible menus just send them my way. I may talk their ear off, it may involve more interpretive dance or moaning, but please don’t hesitate. Love,
C. P.
